 About Success College

Success College has dedicated itself to training,  through hands-on practical experience, allowing our graduates to excel at their chosen profession, since 1893!  Our philosphy of education has been consistently based on the notion that students learn best when immersed in theoretical and practical learning.  Our highly qualified instructors and facilitators bring a valuable combination of extensive educational backgrounds, professional expertise, and real-world experience into every classroom.

The first graduating class of Success College
Truro, Nova Scotia, 1918
Kelly McMullen received the first diploma issued by
Success College, June 1929

The campus is just minutes outside the Halifax Regional Municipality city centre in our new 20,000 sq. foot modernized campus, centrally located in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.   Our pride in our students, as well as a focused approach to training, has allowed us to remain recognized as one of the top providers of private training in the Maritimes and beyond.  This is evident from our employment statistics indicating that the majority of graduates are employed in their chosen profession.

Accommodations
Affordable housing options can be conveniently located near the campus. The College maintains a registry of accommodations. If you require assistance in your search please contact the admissions office.

Culture and History
The Sackville -Bedford area has always been a choice destination for social gatherings and recreational activities, beginning with the Mi’Kmaq who traveled each spring along what is today called the Sackville River to the shores of the Bedford Basin. Rich in charm and history, the communities of Sackville, Bedford, Halifax and Dartmouth have recently celebrated the 250th Anniversary of their founding.  Metro Halifax is the commercial, educational, and technological centre of Atlantic Canada. This new “Super Capital City” of Halifax has a population of over 300,000.

Night Life
Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford and Lower Sackville, is a safe, clean municipality, which offers excellent cuisine, lively pubs, dancing, theatre, a professional symphony, art galleries and museums, the excitement of city living with the charms of small-town life --- all in one place. Fans can watch junior hockey or catch national and international sports events and star entertainers at the Halifax’s Metro Centre.

Recreation
Walking and biking trails, running tracks, swimming and nearby car racing are available in our area. Those with active families may be more interested in taking the children to Atlantic Playland, a local amusement park, for a fun day on the rides, or to the Sackville Sports Stadium for a swim in the indoor swimming pool, skate at the rink or a work out at the gym.  Movie theatres, baseball, football, self-defense, golf, curling and soccer, indoor and outdoor fields, are close to the Campus.

Shopping
Shoppers will be pleased with the variety of individual retailers along Bedford Highway and Sackville Drive.  The Sunday Crafters Market in Bedford and flea market in Sackville are something to be experienced!

Transportation
The Halifax Metro Area (including Lower Sackville) has public transit, taxi companies, rail services and regional bus lines. The Halifax International Airport is within 25 minutes and the Campus is near a major exchange for two major provincial highways, including the Trans-Canada Highway.
